The Atelier of Taste is a place of food education and learning together about where food comes from and the impact it has on all of us a cultural, a way of being and sustaining our well being and belonging.
I have been involved with the love of food since I was a child. Growing up in a community where food is more than consuming, it is a part of a place of identity.
Since 2005, Acorn Collaborative has been presenting and involed in many food education experiences both in schools, in the community, part of the Slow Food campaign and working closely with different, local chefs. Workshops on food education and pedagogies brings us to the table to talk about how food is part of our lives in so many ways. The collaboration between the pedagogy of food and with chefs has been and continues to inspire our work and research on food issues, education, and the environment.
Working live in kitchens, classrooms, and on farms with educators, cooks, children, and families is a continued act of love that I find myself continually involved in.
In 2017, I published a chapter in Beautiful Stuff from Nature that included a history and story about the Tomato Sauce-Transformation of a Tomato. A story about family, engagement, belonging, and building a sense of identity.
At Acorn, I continue to organize workshops and welcome you to share your experience and thoughts. I love the daily messages about garden growing and food initiatives!
